For us, photography is more than our business – it's our passion. And we believe we have a responsibility to the talented artists who push our industry forward. Our goal is to enable photographers, filmmakers and content creators to bring attention to significant social and cultural issues, as well as to take new and inspiring strides in creative work.
Apply for our active grants below and explore our grants program in greater depth on our Where We Stand website. Please note that the application process for several of our Inclusion Scholarships is managed by our partner organizations; review the details on this page for more info.
Getty Images is offering two $15,000 grants for organizations that support documentary photography and its practitioners, either through public engagement or professional development. These project-based grants are intended for educational programs, workshops, exhibitions and other initiatives that reinforce the power of photography as a journalistic medium.
The grants are open to non-profit organizations of any size, worldwide. They are not meant to fund: general operating costs; for-profit companies; or individual artists in the production of photography. Individuals proposing projects ancillary to photography are eligible to apply.
The grant winning proposal must be fulfilled within one year of being awarded.

Continuing our tradition of supporting in-depth photojournalism through our Editorial Grants program, Getty Images will award three grants of $5,000 each to photographers and videographers reporting stories of community resilience in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Within this theme, we are looking for visual journalists to show how communities around the world are recovering from the pandemic’s far-reaching impact on public health, jobs, education and other aspects of human welfare. Throughout the pandemic, there was ample attention on the actions – or inaction – of national governments. With this grant, we want to help focus attention on how individuals, businesses, volunteer organizations and local governments are helping communities recover from, and adapt to, the long-term disruptive challenges posed by the pandemic.

These grants are open to both still photographers and videographers, with the aim of producing a photo-essay or short-form documentary of no longer than 10 minutes (or a series of shorter vignettes of equivalent length). The grant must be fulfilled within six months of being awarded. We will give particular consideration to photographers and videographers working in their own cities or immediate regions.
Ethical photojournalism is also carried out safely, and we ask applicants to consider their health and that of their communities when conducting their work. Please also abide by local and national laws governing how journalists work and travel amid pandemic-related restrictions.
